Alkaline water is all the rage these days. Social media is full of post warning people that drinking coffee will cause you to get cancer because it will make your blood acidic. Or maybe you’ve seen the countless videos warning you on which bottles of “Alkaline water” is falsely advertised and not “really” alkaline.
Truth be told, that’s because they are ALL false advertisement. If you are a lazy internet scroller and don’t want to read the rest of this post let me give you the bottom line.
FOOD OR WATER CAN NOT CHANGE YOUR BLOOD PH LEVEL …. PERIOD!
THE THEORY: Eating and Alkaline diet and drinking Alkaline water will prevent your BLOOD from becoming acidic and prevent cancer, arthritis and help weight loss.
TRUTH is nothing you eat or drink is going to make a significant difference in the Alkalinity of the your blood. I.E. drinking “Alkaline water” doesn’t make your blood less acidic.
What you eat DOES change the acidity of your urine and that’s the work of Our Amazing bodies. We are marvelously made machines that naturally balances the alkalinity of our blood within the range to sustain life on a regular basis. The fact that the acidity of your urine changes is your body ridding itself of additional acid so you blood acidity level stays consistent.
So pee test strips aren’t telling you how acidic or Alkaline your blood is, but rather how much acid your body got rid of to keep your blood in perfect balance.
BUT IT HELPED ME LOSE WEIGHT ….
Yeah it probably does, but not because you are more Alkaline. Alkaline diet promotes lots of fruits and veggies, no processed food and home cooking, which are are essentials in weight loss.
